Maintenance and updates

The ongoing maintenance and updates of our website are crucial for ensuring its optimal performance, security, and relevance. This section outlines our approach to regular maintenance, backup procedures, and the change management process for major updates.

Regular maintenance and updates

  • Group Marketing team oversight: The Group Marketing team is responsible for managing updates and regular maintenance of all Accace websites. This includes plugin updates and security patches.
  • Testing of updates on a separate environment: Before any updates are implemented, the Group Marketing team tests the updates in a separate testing environment to see how the updates affect the whole website, other plugins and what issues may arise.
  • Regular maintenance schedule: We adhere to a regular schedule for maintenance activities to minimize disruption. This includes checking for and implementing updates to our content management system, plugins, and other critical software.
  • Communication: Prior to scheduled maintenance, the Group Marketing team communicates with all relevant stakeholders, including local marketing teams, to ensure they are aware of any potential temporary impact on website operations.

Backup and disaster recovery procedures

The Group Marketing team ensures the backup process that guarantees all website data is securely stored and can be quickly restored in case of any data loss or website downtime. In the event of a website failure or data loss, the Group Marketing team have procedures in place to ensure prompt solution.

Change management process for major updates

  • Initiation by Group Marketing team: When major updates are initiated by the Group Marketing team, local marketing teams are involved for cooperation. This might include temporarily pausing PPC campaigns or refraining from updating/adding content during specific periods.
  • Local marketing Initiatives: If the change is initiated by local marketing, the Group Marketing team evaluates the necessity and impact of the change. This evaluation includes assessing the reason for the change, its feasibility, and its potential impact on the overall web infrastructure. Once a change is deemed necessary and beneficial, it goes through a testing and approval process. The implementation is carefully planned to minimize disruption and ensure seamless integration with existing website elements.

Additional considerations

  • Testing and quality assurance: post-update testing is crucial. All updates, whether for maintenance or major changes, undergo thorough testing and quality assurance checks to ensure functionality and compatibility.
  • Documentation and training: Documenting each significant update and providing necessary training to relevant teams ensures everyone is up to date with the latest website features and functionalities.
